Belgische man vindt ontvoerde dochter in Zuid-Afrika

We waren zo blij.

  1. Hi Karl

Would be wonderful if you can follow-up this story and offer us Lisa's side as well? I am a South African living in Belgium and honestly feel that the program presented not only is extremely one sided BUT also depicts a strange picture of South Africans in general. I do not know Lisa at all but suspect that there is a lot more to this story than being offered to gullible Belgian viewers. It was mentioned that Lisa did not want to react - this is apparently not exactly true and apparently you are aware of the reasons why this was not possible? Do the right thing!!! Give us both sides of the story and let us decide THEN what we think about it.

  2. Hi Mr, Mrs?

I felt exactly the same as you do. As a result I did all I could to contact Lisa in order to give her the opportunity to tell her side of the story. She agreed to be interviewed but in the end she didn't show up. I've send her several messages to point her at the deadline. She never responded.

A week after the broadcast Lisa's father called me to ask for an extra interview which is not my call but the editor in chief's. I've send the request to the desk in Vilvoorde as I'm living in Cape Town as News Correspondent.
Lisa's father also admitted that it was he who answered my previous messages in her name. I'm sure you can understand that was rather confusing for us.

Please be assured that there many other South Africans who guard the good reputation and the right picture of you and your fellow countrymen in general.

    Kind Regards,

    Karl Symons
